Basic Info BioA story begins to travel
in the night. It is never
seen by daylight. If you meet it
you can protect yourself
by putting your coat on
inside out. You might think
it was just a loose horse clattering
at the edge of the road or a dog
nosing the shed door. It isn’t
safe to speak to it although
it doesn’t do any harm
to bless yourself. “God bless us!” you say
and something disappears at the corner
near the wood. Where it was
you are aware only of a slight
stir among the branches-
And, above you,
in the clouds reaching out from the hilltop
in long bridges you can see well
by the light of so many stars.
